How to increase 3M Adflo battery capacity during regeneration

A factory 3M Adflo Standard battery has a capacity of around 2.9–3.0 Ah. Today's 18650 cells have a higher energy density than those fitted a few years ago, so regeneration lets us fit more energy into the same housing. At Axis you can choose 3400 mAh for the 837640 Standard and 6800 mAh for the 837631 Heavy Duty – up to 40% more than the factory pack.
Where the extra capacity comes from
An Adflo battery is made up of several 18650 cells connected into a pack. The cell format hasn't changed, but the technology has: modern cells from leading manufacturers store more energy in the same size. When we replace the cells, we can therefore fit a higher-capacity version – without changing the housing, latches or electronics.

What higher capacity means in practice
- Longer runtime on a single charge – more headroom on a long shift.

- Nothing changes in use – same 3M charger, same charge indicator, because the electronics are calibrated to the new pack capacity.
Is it safe?
Yes. We don't change the battery voltage (10.8 V) or the protection circuitry. We use brand-name Li-ion cells, spot-welded with pure nickel strip, and every battery is load-tested before shipping: we check capacity, voltage stability and temperature. Every regenerated battery comes with a 12-month warranty.
Which option to choose
If you work long shifts or often run in Turbo mode, go for the higher capacity. If the blower is used for shorter periods with breaks for charging, the standard option is enough. You choose the capacity in the order form.

- Will a higher-capacity battery fit in the blower unit?
- Yes. Your original 3M housing stays, so the dimensions and latches are exactly the same as before.
- Will the 3M charger charge a higher-capacity battery?
- Yes. We keep the original BMS, so charging works as before – it just takes proportionally longer.
- Can I upgrade a Standard battery to Heavy Duty capacity?
- No. A Standard battery holds fewer cells than a Heavy Duty one; the maximum we offer for it is 3400 mAh.
